The night we saw this fine, fine production there was a small earthquake about fifteen minutes into the first act; just a tremor, enough to startle the audience and stop the cast for maybe ten or twelve seconds. Then Ann Darragh, still in character as Agnes, sort of looked around at us and said something like, "There. Are we all here?" Then, as if nothing had happened, Agnes, Claire, and Tobias were with us again. The Aurora Theatre Company served the material even better than the movie version. I am grateful I was there.

This was the best production of "Delicate Balance" I ever saw. The night we caught it there was a brief earthquake tremor shortly into the first scene. Before the audience could react Kimberly King, totally still in character as Agnes, gave us all a look, asked if everyone was all right, and within seconds we were all back in the play. I was sorry that Edward Albee thought so much of the movie version. I thought Hepburn was just wrong, wrong, wrong, and Paul Scofield's idea of Tobias was to play him as if he were a zombie.

What if you advocated for MORE Little Man Icons in addition to the five already there? Little man, reconsidering his own childhood while having an omelet by himself after the show. Little man, trying not to cry, and succeeding, because Little man's new meds haven't yet been dialed-in. Little man, wondering if he'd feel differently about the violence in the third act if he was a POC, and wasn't driving home to Marin in a Tesla.

This is a great trailer which captured the full intensity of this performance. We saw it live and still can't quit thinking about it. Barbara Damashek's direction had to account for the fact that much of the text repeated itself so frequently that actors could have easily gotten lost in their footwork and flubbed their lines almost anywhere in the script. Morgan's work is a challenge for any theater company. Aurora met that challenge head on, using its uniquely intimate house to best effect. If you live near Berkeley, this is one theater company to follow closely. We've never been disappointed in an Aurora production.

Nice use of all the elements - not just a film of the play, but a real presentation and context for what we'll see. Well done!
